Ours has been a fertile mindscape. As a culture, we have often imagined the unthinkable.
In our fabulous mythological landscape, we have had mighty mountain sized living beings walking the ground causing tremors. We have had them turn into beasts that flew or swam or ran at the blink of an eye. They have often come with many limbs or several heads or even just as headless torsos. Hiranyaksha, Tataka, Mahisha, Simhika, Taraka, Raktabeeja... so many names that swirled in our conscious minds all our lives.
Priya writes one beautiful anthology of demons and demonesses drawn from our texts of yore.
And our shelf now growls a deep resonating voice of the ancient.
