We asked a friend to send us a recent image of the farm taken from space. And there came a patch of green rectangle in a barren landscape of brown mud.
Recalling the story, we dug 600 pits and made compost in each one of them, some 4 to 5 years ago. Every compost pit was planted with a tender sapling. And even now, at least once a year, we push every pit to make its own compost on the spot with a top-up of tree discarded leaves, cow dung and village pond soil, brought from desilting.
So, if you found any produce sweet, it is from the fruit of patience of the land.
