Exactly this day a year ago, Dr. Pratibha led some two dozen people from this community to a prime mango tree at our farm. They climbed, bent the branches, used barge poles, and did everything possible to pluck some 20 kilos of mangoes. They then sat down on the farm floor, cut the mangoes to size, used all organic ingredients, and made pickles. In the end, everyone carried home a bottle of organic mango pickles and retained a slice of spicy memory for life.
This year, the season of mangoes has shifted a little. Probably, the mangoes will ripen to that stage in 2 to 3 weeks. And if Pratibha is free from her medical routine, we could request her yet again to demonstrate her surgical skills on sour mangoes. Just be ready.
Extreme delight rarely trickles, albeit in the form of pickles.
