The eastern world has been a minefield of philosophies for peace and every step of the way, some thought explodes into the heart and says something soothing.

While people have looked to the West for wealth, material bliss, and living comfort, they have always turned to the East for the sunrise of consciousness.

And among the gems of such philosophies is the Confucian thought of 'Ren'. Ren is your relationship with yourself and all around you. It is all about how through simple and sensible changes in our lives we can connect better with friends, families, and societies and build community, justice, fairness, and compassion.

In a nutshell, it is all about making oneself a better person and being a happier human being.

Ren is on the shelf. And so, peace is accessible.

LITERARY FICTION - STORIES OF LIFE IN ELEGANCE OF LANGUAGE

Over 500 titles draw attention on a pinewood rack in an entire room meant for fiction at the Silverfish Bookstore. They are life stories from around the world, told in an individual prosaic style by well-known or less known authors.

And some 300 among them are clustered as literary fiction. They are master crafts of writers that build finesse to characters, in a language that's artistic. That's like a rare romance of your mind with a slowly descending warm chocolate cream down the tongue on a rainy day by the window sill.

A CURATOR'S AMARYLLIS

By Dr. R Sudarshan T he maiden book of the Silverfish Books curator ( https://www.amazon.in/Beauty-Queen-Pathway-Pageantry-Sudarshan/dp/9390924103 ) was published by Amaryllis in August 2021. To commemorate the day of publication, we planted Amaryllis at our farm. Some 8 months later, the Amaryllis has begun to bloom at the farm, coinciding with our curator's signing an agreement with Trinidad and Tobago in the wider Caribbean to provide them her mentorship in pageantry, based on her book. Coincidences are as impossible to explain as the spirit of symbolism is. Nonetheless, the book is now a milestone in the life avenue of Silverfish and the Amaryllis flower now is a milestone at the farm that's an integral part of our bookstore.
